Canadian artist Micheline Snively was born and raised in the province of Alberta with a few excursions to the North West Territories and northern Saskatchewan during her childhood. Micheline started her post-secondary education at the University of Alberta receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus on abstract sculpture and drawing. This was followed with a diploma in Forest Technology which upon completion brought her to the town of Mackenzie, located in north central British Columbia, for employment. Add in another diploma studying Geographic Information Systems in 2009 during the economic downturn combined with her past work, personal and educational background, the groundwork for her approach to landscape painting was established.

After experiencing a career ending injury in 2016 Micheline began dedicating herself to landscape painting in 2019, becoming a full-time professional artist in 2020 with the creation of her small business called Prickly Rose Studio. Stylistically influenced by the Group of Seven, Micheline initially used those styles as a guide to her own development as a landscape oil painter, naturally developing her own artistic style depicting how she responds to the local landscape. Canadian artists such as Ken Faulks, Peter Rotter, Mark Tworow, Christine Clarke and Mark Berens are noted contemporary influences.

As a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), Micheline has had several paintings accepted into juried exhibits some which have sold to collectors throughout Canada. Micheline is a member of the FCA Central Interior Chapter and an informal group of artists called Joined By the Brush, participating in exhibits managed by the two groups. Micheline currently displays and sells her paintings at a local coffee shop in Mackenzie called the Purple Bicycle. It is a venue providing a consistent display of her paintings to the community and to the constant influx of natural resource workers and tourists visiting the town of Mackenzie.
